With the Garmin nüvi 1490/1490T you will get hassle free travels with all of its advanced features. With the route planner, you will have the ability to store up to 10 routes for you to identify points to your destinations. The device is easy to read and the local speed limit will be alerted to you when you are driving on roads and highways. It will also be your perfect travel companion since it has great pedestrian navigation capability to aid you while you are on foot. Just download the cityXplorer content to help you locate your way though city public transit systems.

Bluetooth® wireless technology is included in nüvi 1490/1490T so it will be compatible to pair to your Bluetooth devices so you to focus on your driving while talking to someone on the phone. To make a call, just dial the numbers in the nüvi’s touchscreen keypad, and to answer calls, just tap the display and talk with its integrated microphone. When you are on an ongoing phone call, other audio will be automatically muted so as not to interupt your conversation. Quality audio too, even if you are in the rain while driving, the audio is high enough for you to hear the voice of this device.

To make it easy for you to call ahead to your destination, you can mark the place as your POI (point of interest) so that you will be able to get phone numbers related to the POI or to your destination.

What is even better on nuvi 1490/1490T are the travel tools or added features that can also assist when not driving, such as the measurements converter, JPEG image viewer, world clock, currency converter, and more. It also comes with an anti theft feature, the Garmin lock for worry free travels.

The one downside of this model is that the 1490/1490T does not play audio files such as MP3’s which is a feature available to newer Garmin nuvi models.

Below are a couple of the many great 5-star Garmin 1450 reviews from owners on Amazon:

Garmin 1450 Reviews 5-starWonderful GPS. I have owned $600 Lowrance units and $200 Tom Tom’s. But for the money, this Garmin 1450 is wonderful. The support online for updating the unit and adding some custom touches to the gps are really nice… What I can tell you is the ease of finding your destination, the continued updating online, the fact you can rate a hotel or destination, the size of the screen, easy to use, and how you can add a destination or correct a current destination, are things I love about the Garmin nuvi 1450. Great price and very happy with it. I recommend this product!… Garmin 1450 Review Paraphrased for size – view original review here.

Garmin 1450 5-star ReviewGarmin nuvi 1450 is the third GPS I have owned and the best, also the cheapest. I replaced a 660 nuvi with it. It preformed excellent right out of the box. It had taken 5 minutes or less to find its location the first time, after that it is just about instantaneous. The larger screen is a pleasure, it is easy to read, the voice is very clear and loud. I set mine at 70%. The lane assist is great, and works only when you are approaching a large city. The Lanes appear in the upper left hand corner, and the ones that you should be using are highlighted, so no more guessing which side of the road you should be on. Updating the maps was simple. Garmins web site is easy to understand, it had taken approximately 3 hours to update with new maps. Unlike some of the other reviews, I find Garmin’s support to be very courteous and helpful. Also amazon’s delivery and service are always excellent… Garmin 1450 Reviews Paraphrased for size – view original review here.

Garmin 1300 Review : 4.3″ GPS Navigator

garmin nuvi 1300 review ratings

garmin nuvi 1300 4.3" gps navigator reviews

Garmin GPS navigation shows it’s continuous progression with the Garmin nuvi 1300 4.3 Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator. It has a wide, touchscreen display with WQVGA color TFT, a sharp 480 by 272 pixel display. Since this is a lighter, thinner, and low price GPS, it will be a great companion for all types of traveling whether you are walking, driving, or hiking. However, it is not intended for marine usage because its casing is not water-proof. The white backlight and wide screen display of Garmin Nuvi 1300 will help its user easily see the details of the roads and streets on any trip.

With the text-to-speech feature on the Garmin nüvi 1300 4.3″ GPS Navigator, you don’t need to take your eyes off the road because it will announce out loud the direction of your destination. You don’t have to backtrack either if you accidentally miss an exit, the Garmin 1300 Portable GPS Navigator will recalculate and verbally announce the new exit and street names to you. Also, this device is customizable. You can program special points of interest (POI) for you to mark particular places. It comes with built-in maps of North America, Hawaii, Europe, Canada, and Puerto Rico which makes this GPS perfect for new entrants in the world of GPS.

It’ll be your trusty wingman in your travels with its built in speaker, you get clear voice notifications which give the names of the streets you are driving and approaching during your trip. One new feature on Garmin nuvi 1300 Portable GPS Navigator helps the driver find other routes if they find that there will be unnecessary problems coming their way. If you are new to a country or unfamiliar with a particular place, the Garmin feature called “Where Am I” will provide you with emergency services, significant places, and all the hot spots within the region you are driving in. Unlike other GPS units, this device is very handy and not congested with unpractical features. It can easily be stored directly in your pocket or purse too.

Below are a couple of the many great 5-star Garmin 1300 reviews from owners with this portable GPS navigator:

garmin 1300 5-star reviews I received my Garmin1300 a week ago for my birthday and am thoroughly delighted with it! It’s very easy to program and provides nearly flawless directions. The graphics are easy to read, the computer voice (in Jill and Jack formats) is comprehensible and the features are fun. I wish we had this device on recent trips to New Jersey and Virginia. It answers my classic question, “Where is the nearest Dunkin Donuts?” with amazing ease and rapidity. It can locate street addresses and business names with equal facility. It calculates the cost of gas used on a trip, and the number of miles spent at rest and moving. It gives real-time feedback on speed, compass direction and distance to the next turn.

I am so impressed by the care that went into the voice interface on the Garmin1300. I am warned in good time about upcoming turns. And the Garmin1300 even knows the names of those short access roads I didn’t know existed. And to show the level of care that went into the device’s design, the suction cup that holds the Nuvi to a dashboard has a little tab to break the suction, making it easy to move the device. That’s great design!… Garmin 1300 Reviews Paraphrased for size – view original review here.

garmin 1300 reviews 5-starFirst of all, I have the Garmin1300T, which is identical except it includes lifetime traffic. That being said, I have had this going on a month now and find it to be one of the best, if not THE best GPS Vehicle Nav I have come across. I have several handhelds of various names, but in sticking with the scope of this review, I will only mention my previous experience with the vehicle GPS units.

I’ve had just about every brand name of GPS unit in search of the “perfect” one. Up until now, the closest I came was with a Nuvi 350 when it was first released in 05, which I foolishly sold as I wasn’t using it as much as I had originally thought. Back then, GPS Nav was a nicety and not nearly as “big” as it is today. Since then, I’ve had units from Magellan, Cobra, Finedrive (Ugh!), Whistler, TomTom, Mio(My favorite TeleAtlas based brand) and Navigon. All had their plusses and minuses but, never really hit that sweet spot. With the exception of one small detail, the 1300 FINALLY gets it… Garmin 1300 Reviews Paraphrased for size – view original review here.

Garmin nuvi 1450 LMT 5-star Reviews Garmin has a wide variety of models, which is a mixed blessing. You can probably find what model you want, but finding it takes a bit of effort. • I like the time or distance to destination feature. The time estimates to a destination have been quite accurate. It’s a nice feature especially on long legs.
  • The people at Garmin are really nice and very helpful if you do need technical support

The Not-So-Good Stuff

  • No USB cable included (Many already have one of these if you own a digital camera or other usb storage device. You can find one pretty cheap off eBay too for a few bucks)
  • No manual (you must print from web site and it’s over 60 pages, but the 1350T is so easy to use you really won’t need it, and we save a few trees).

garmin 1350t review 5-star ratingThe Garmin 1350T is the second Garmin GPS unit I’ve used, and it’s far superior. It keeps up with me in the city and very quickly recalculates the route if I make a wrong turn. The lane assist feature is also very useful and gives me quick, visual confirmation when I approach multi-lane intersections. I bought the Garmin 1350T for this lane assist feature, and I’m glad I did… Garmin 1350T Review paraphrased for size – view original review here.

garmin 1350t review 5-starBefore going overseas i tested The Garmin 1350t in California by using it to go from home to work and on my drive from LA to San Jose. The device worked perfectly, i used extended features like traffic and waypoints to get food and find things like gas… the satellite acquisition is super fast (if lost in tunnel or something its about 2 seconds), if starting up after being off for a couple days then its 20 seconds or so… sometimes a bit longer. The screen is bright and voice is loud.

Bottom line, is that it worked perfectly… Garmin 1350T Review paraphrased for size – view original review here.
